Strangers are better
It is one of the ultimate ironies that blessings and gifts given from strangers are much more meaningful compared to that of family. Did you know that friends are also strangers? They are classified as "familiar" strangers. We have this family friend who works in the US who flew all the way just to see me and my family. This stranger, who has absolutely nothing to gain from being close to us, manages to be close, and gives my father a gift out of the blue. Whereas I think of my father's siblings also in the US, living the good life and they couldn't even complete a phone call - during christmas day!? We didn't care if they had a gift or not. Of the 365 days in a year, are the breaths we take more important? (practically speaking, yes *just kidding*)
Now wait a friggin' second - there must be something really warped about the world - or was it that strangers are playing the roles of siblings now?
Come on.. family can do better than that, right?

unfortunately, not. families don't do much 'cept for squabbling.
but of course, am not speaking in general terms. but from my own experience, friends and yes, even strangers, are way much better.
blood is thicker than water pare... even if the world will end and all your friends will flee, they will still be your family and relatives... ugh.. the thought.
